These appeals are filed by the appellant in each case against the judgment and order passed by the High Court of Judicature of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh in Criminal Appeal No.405-DB of 2005, whereby the High Court, vide JUDGMENT its common judgment and order, has reduced the sentence of the appellants from ...2 PageĀ 1 : 2 : 15 years to 10 years rigorous imprisonment as imposed by the Trial Court and the fine is reduced from Rs.1,50,000/- to Rs.1,00,000/- each on the ground that the recovery of contraband substance from the appellants does not commensurate with the sentence and fine as imposed by the Trial Court. In default of payment of fine, the High Court has maintained the sentence to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment. 3. Having heard learned counsel for the parties to the lis and having carefully perused the records of the case , we are of the opinion that these appeals, being devoid of merit, are liable to be dismissed and are, therefore, dismissed accordingly. .......................J.
