Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited has not
abided/complied with the terms of settlement as undertaken by
them in the settlement agreement. He further submits that
except for the initial payment made at the time of signing the
settlement agreement (which payment was also not full as per
the agreement), no payment has been made thereafter. He
further submits that the agreement was entered into between
nd
the parties on 2 December, 2025 and that more than 10
months have lapsed and till date, no efforts/payment have been
taken/made by the respondent after the first (part) initial
payment. In this view of the matter, learned Senior counsel

such, seeks restoration of the writ appeal and other connected
applications therein.

5. Mr. Kumar, learned Advocate General appearing through
VC submits that the respondent has been corresponding with

6. Having heard the learned Senior counsel for the applicant
and the learned Advocate General, we find that although the
nd
settlement agreement was entered into on 2 December, 2025,
pursuant to which, the aforesaid appeal and the application
th
were disposed of vide judgment and order dated 11 December,
2025, no payment has been made to the applicant after the first
initial payment of 35 per cent, at the time of signing the
agreement. It has been more than 10 months and till date, not a
single penny has been paid by the respondent to the applicant.
7. Since, learned Advocate General has requested for six
weeks’ time to make an endeavor to make the payment, we deem
it appropriate to grant time of six weeks to the respondent to
abide by the terms entered into the settlement agreement dated
nd th
2 December, 2025, failing which the order dated 11
December, 2025, shall stand recalled and the writ appeal
alongwith connected applications will stand restored to its
original file.
8. Although, the learned Advocate General submits that 35
per cent has been paid, learned Senior counsel appearing for the
