Terms of Service
Last updated: October 12, 2026
1. Introduction and Agreement
Welcome to LawLens. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LawLens website, platform, and services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated and provided by ZIPF TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, located at Swargate, Pune, Maharashtra 411042, India ("we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
LawLens Search through MCP
These Terms also cover LawLens Search through our published Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint, including access from ChatGPT and other compatible MCP clients. The integration searches indexed public Indian judgments and legislation, looks up neutral citations, and retrieves indexed source text. It is read-only and does not provide legal advice, generate AI legal answers, or verify whether an authority remains good law. Retrieved text may be incomplete; consult the linked source and independently review it before relying on it.
This integration does not require a LawLens account and does not offer purchases, payments, or subscriptions. Any account requirements, fees, or availability restrictions imposed by the MCP client provider are separate from LawLens. We do not restrict this integration to particular countries, but use remains subject to applicable law, client-provider availability, and service limits.
2. Eligibility and User Accounts
- Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
- Account Registration: You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- Account Responsibility: You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must keep your account password secure and confidential. You may not share your account credentials with anyone else. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Content and Intellectual Property Rights
We make a clear distinction between your content and our service. Our commitments in our Privacy Policy are integrated here.
- Your Input: You retain all ownership rights to the documents, queries, and other information you upload or submit to the Service ("Input").
- Your Output: You own the reports, summaries, analyses, and other content generated by the Service based on your Input ("Output"). We hereby assign to you all our right, title, and interest, if any, in and to the Output.
- Our Limited License to Your Content: To operate and provide the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, store, and display your Input and Output (collectively, "User Content") solely for the purpose of providing the service to you, such as displaying your work history. This license does not permit us to use your User Content to train our AI models. This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms. You may not:
- Use the Service in a way that infringes on or violates the rights of any third party, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Modify, copy, sell, or distribute any part of our Service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or discover the source code or underlying components of our Service, including our models and systems.
- Use unauthorized automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the Service. Compatible MCP clients may call our published MCP endpoint for supported searches and source retrieval, subject to these Terms and rate limits. This permission does not authorize bulk scraping, bypassing safeguards, or accessing other protected endpoints.
- Represent that Output from the Service was generated by a human when it was not.
- Use the Output from our Service to develop or train models that compete with LawLens.
5. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds
This section applies to paid LawLens services, not to the LawLens Search MCP integration, which does not process purchases or payments.
- Billing: You agree to provide complete and accurate billing information for any purchased Service.
- Subscriptions: Subscriptions are for a fixed term and do not automatically renew. You will need to manually purchase a new subscription term to continue using the paid features of the Service.
- Price Changes: We may change our prices from time to time. If we increase our prices, we will provide you with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal is due.
- Refunds: Payments are generally non-refundable. However, if you choose to cancel your subscription before the end of its term, you may be eligible for a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the term. To request a refund, please contact [email protected].
6. CRITICAL DISCLAIMERS: NO LEGAL ADVICE
LAWLEns IS A RESEARCH TOOL, NOT A LAWYER. THE SERVICE AND ANY OUTPUT IT PROVIDES DO NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE. The Service is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified and licensed human legal professional.
AI IS NOT INFALLIBLE. The Service may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. You are solely responsible for evaluating the accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of all Output for your specific use case.
INDEPENDENT REVIEW REQUIRED. You must independently review and verify all Output before relying on it for any purpose. Never use the Output as the sole basis for making any legal, business, or other important decisions.
7. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties
