Saurashtra Gharkhed, Tenancy Settlement and Agricultural Lands Ordinance, 1949

An Ordinance to provide for the settlement of disputes between landholders and their tenants and other matters. Whereas it is expedient for the peace and good government of the State of Saurashtra to provide for the settlement of disputes relating to the quantum of Gharkhed land, rent and evictions, between the land-holders and their tenants, for the improvement of the economic and social conditions of peasants, for the full and efficient use of land for agriculture and for certain other matters hereinafter appearing : Now, Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph (3) of Article IX of the Covenant, read with paragraph III of the Supplementary Covenant and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Raj Pramukh is hereby pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance :-
