Assent of the President of India was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, dated 16th September, 1989. An Act to provide for the imposition and levy of additional tax and one-time tax on motor vehicles in the State of West Bengal. Whereas it is necessary, in the public interest, to provide for the imposition and levy of additional tax and one-time tax on motor vehicles in the State of West Bengal; It is hereby enacted as follows:-
